"The aim of art is to present not the outward
appearence of things, but their inner significance"

Alia Corm is a Franco-Lebanese abstract artist whose work is an exploration of emotion, identity, and spontaneous creation. A self-taught painter, Alia draws deeply from her dual heritage and the artistic legacy of her grandfather, Georges Daoud Corm, a pioneer of modern Lebanese painting.

Alia’s artistic journey began to take shape after moving to Cyprus in 2011. In 2017, she fully embraced her calling as an artist following the birth of her twins. Her work is rooted in a spontaneous, intuitive process, creating visual dialogues that invite reflection and connection. Each piece serves as a mirror of the human experience, capturing the delicate balance between inner contemplation and external expression.

Before dedicating herself entirely to art, Alia’s academic background in History, History of Art and Cultural Heritage Management informed her understanding of cultural narratives and artistic expression. Today, she continues to exhibit internationally and engage in creative collaborations, all while maintaining a practice centered on the poetry of existence and the power abstract compositions.

"My work is a continuous dialogue between the visible and the invisible, a reflection of my soul and the viewer's. I seek to create a connection, to bring to light the shared essence of being present in the world. My process is spontaneous, allowing the canvas to guide me, reflecting the moment and the emotions that arise in real-time."
